Mainvault Blind Bag 2022 1

Alps OutdoorZ has developed what they term a “workstation” for serious waterfowlers. The Vault Blind Bag is a technical pack developed specifically for hunters pursuing birds in flooded timber and wet blind environments. It is designed around a dual-compartment modular internal shelf and external support system that allows the pack to be secured out of water and mud, while permitting the hunter full access to essential gear.

Two 24-inch tree straps tuck into side panels and can be extended to wrap around a tree when hunting flooded timber, keeping the pack within easy reach and access height. For wet blinds, the pack features a self-standing hard, weatherproof bottom to keep your gear dry from the elements.

Inside the main pack compartment is a fold-down internal shelf. When deployed, this serves as a work shelf, or can be used to separate the pack into two compartments. A full-access U-shaped lid eases retrieval of items from the main compartment without the risk of spilling contents. Also within the main compartment are multiple zippered and elastic internal storage pockets for stowing motorized decoy wings and accessories.

Interior of Vault Blind Bag

To facilitate field carry, the Vault Blind Bag boasts padded shoulder straps and a pocketed waist belt that allows for a custom, ergonomic fit. Additional features include multiple stake pockets with compression straps, 22 reinforced Molle gear loops, an oversized hold-open shell pocket capable of holding more than two shell boxes, a drop-down gun boot, and an oversized vacuum bottle pocket.

The bag comes in Realtree’s Timber camo pattern. For more information, visit alpsoutdoorz.com. MSRP: $229.99

Know How: Understanding and Obtaining a Cold-Bore Zero

Have you ever spent hours at the range zeroing a rifle only to learn it is nowhere near center when you go to confirm it at camp? Many attribute this malady to scope shift during travel, and that can sometimes be the case. However, far more often this point-of-impact change can be attributed to the way we zeroed back home.
