Finding hunting equipment designed specifically for women has thankfully become easier over the last few years, and some of the new female-specific products introduced this year are game-changers for us lady hunters. Here’s a list of the best new guns and gear for women, straight from the 2018 SHOT Show.

Danner Wayfinder Women's Hunting Boot 
Danner’s new women’s Wayfinder boot has been designed to stand up to even the toughest hunting conditions. Built with the company’s Danner Dry waterproof lining and optional Thinsulate Ultra insulation, your feet can stay warm and dry no matter where your hunt takes you. The new Wayfinder also features a tactical lace-to-toe design, a lightweight, comfortable Plyolite midsole and an outsole that offers the grip and traction necessary when tackling rugged terrain. Mystery Ranch Women's Metcalf Pack
Mystery Ranch is well-known for its durable, high-quality packs, and its new Women’s Metcalf pack goes above and beyond offer lady hunters a “go-to” pack that fits well and includes features that make it ideal whether on a multi-day hunt or a quick morning stalk. With harnessing to better fit women’s upper-body anatomy, the Women’s Metcalf features a large main packsack, a detachable, smaller day lid and allows for bow or rifle carry via compression straps. LaCrosse Hail Call Wader
For 2018, LaCrosse has introduced their Hail Call Wader, the company’s first waders designed specifically for women. Featuring a lightweight, breathable upper, fully adjustable torso gussets, belt and suspenders, and a top that can be lowered without removing suspenders for simple conversion from chest to pant waders, women no longer have to sacrifice fit for function. The LaCrosse Alpha boots on the waders mean you’ll stay warm, comfortable and dry with 1600G Thinsulate Ultra insulation, a 3.5mm neoprene core and multi-layer premium rubber. Girls with Guns Lassen Hike Pant
The Lassen Hike Pant from Girls with Guns are the perfect multi-purpose outdoor pant. Whether you’re spending a day at the range, hiking or heading out on an African safari, you’ll want to have a pair (or two) of these along. Featuring an adjustable waistband and inseam, 4-way stretch and articulated knees, the Lassen Hike Pant offers ladies comfortable, correct fit and provides the freedom of movement many outdoor activities require. Syren LS4 Sporting
As a division of Caesar Guerini and Fabarm, Syren manufactures shotguns exclusively for women, with a goal to end the need for females to make compromises when it comes to their guns. For 2018, Syren has introduced the L4S Sporting, which features a stock designed specifically to better fit the upper female anatomy, a smaller pistol grip to better suit a variety of female hand sizes, a Monte Carlo-style comb for women’s proportionally longer necks, a shorter length-of-pull at 13 ½ inches and a slimmer fore-end—the “S” in L4S stands for slender. The result? A 12-gauge shotgun for ladies that is easy to handle and fits well. The new L4S Sporting is available with 28- or 30-inch barrels. Weatherby Mark V Camilla Subalpine
Last year, Weatherby introduced its first female-specific hunting rifle—the Vanguard Camilla. For 2018, Weatherby has expanded their options for female hunters with the Mark V Camilla Subalpine. The new rifle shares the same specialized stock designed for women featured in the company’s Camilla line of rifles, but offers ladies a lightweight (5.75 lbs.), weather-resistant option for hunts that require a rifle able to stand up to the toughest conditions. Along with Weatherby’s revolutionary six-lug Mark V action, an adjustable match-grade LXX trigger and a hand-lapped, stainless steel, fluted barrel with a recessed target crown, the rifle’s carbon fiber stock is finished in Sitka Gear’s Gore Optifade Subalpine camo, and features a weather-resistant Flat Dark Earth Cerakote finish on all metalwork. Colorado Right to Hunt Amendment Makes the November Ballot

Initiative 302, officially titled the Constitutional Right to Hunt and Fish, cleared its final procedural hurdle on August 20, 2026, when the Colorado Secretary of State’s Elections Division certified that proponents had gathered enough valid signatures.

In Memoriam: Randy Brooks: 1949-2026

Randy Brooks, creator of the famous Barnes X Bullet and the 2016 NRA Golden Bullseye Pioneer Award winner, passed away peacefully on the morning of Aug. 27, 2026. The Brooks family believes Randy may have suffered a stroke. He had suffered mini-strokes in the past, and he was recently diagnosed with vascular dementia. He was 76.
