Winchester's Commemorative 150th Anniversary Model 73

The Winchester brand has had no shortage of new surprises for its consumers—like the new Varmint X shotshell—but, as SHOT Show 2016 kicks into high gear, the company will also begin a year-long celebration. Oliver F. Winchester introduced his now legendary brand to the world in 1866—and so, in 2016, Winchester celebrates 150 years of success.

When you've got as much history as the Winchester brand does, you've almost got to flaunt it. And so, in conjunction with the Cody Firearms Museum, Winchester will display the first ever Winchester branded rifle, a Model 1866, Buffalo Bill’s Model 1873 Smoothbore that he used in his Wild West Show, President Eisenhower’s custom Model 1894, President Kennedy’s custom Model 70, and former Winchester Canada President R.F. Bucher’s custom Model 101 at its Repeating Arms booth. Over at Winchester Ammo, you'll find firearms from the collections of the likes of John Olin, Ernest Hemingway and Zane Grey. That's also where you'll find the now infamous "Forgotten Winchester," which was found in the Great Basin National Park a couple years back.

To top it all off, Winchester is introducing a few commemorative rifle models to mark its 150th, including the special Model 73 pictured above. For more information on it, and the anniversary in general, check out the video embedded above.
