Editor's Note: These optics were put to use by Kyle E. Lamb (Sgt. Maj., USA Retired) on a moose hunt in Alaska, a story that was featured in our September 2015 print issue. You can check it out right here.

The Leupold Carbine Optic (LCO), a compact 1X red dot that delivers rapid target acquisition, is made for patrol riflemen but hunters using AR-15s should find it useful, too. Its 1-MOA dot reticle has 16 brightness settings; at its highest the dot will shine bright for midday use, and it is night-vision compatible on lower settings. Push-button on/off with brightness control at the user’s fingertips is powered by one CR123A lithium battery.

The Dual-Enhanced View Optic (D-EVO) is a unique design that allows the 6x20mm optic to be paired perfectly with the 1X LCO or virtually any red-dot sight to deliver a bold aiming point for reflexive shots (low magnification) and a magnified image for long-range use. Users need only move their eye. Leupold & Stevens’ exclusive Close Mid-Range Reticle with Wind Holds (CMR-W) allows users to successfully estimate range and engage targets with greater precision, speed and flexibility. Hold-overs are compatible with 5.56/.223 and 7.62/.308 cartridges. The reticle features a 1/2-MOA dot surrounded by a 5 MOA circle, mil-based ranging features and windage hold points.
