ALPS OutdoorZ has unveiled its new Crossfire Pack, the latest addition to the company's line of hunting gear. The Crossfire is a 2,325 cubic-inch multi-purpose pack that has a large main pocket, large organizational pocket, and detachable front pocket.

The detachable pocket can be removed from the back of the pack and attached to the front of the shoulder straps and waist belt via included buckles the operator wants to keep the pack on. The detachable pocket can also be worn independently of the pack with its own included shoulder strap.

"Although we continue to make improvements and additions to all of the packs in our line, I'm most excited about the Crossfire pack," said Zach Scheidegger, product manager. "It's such a versatile pack that we're confident hunters will appreciate all of the features it has to offer."

The Crossfire pack also features a vented back to keep users cool while they're conquering rugged terrain. The lightweight X-frame, padded shoulders straps and padded waist belt, are designed to allow heavy loads to be comfortably carried. The Crossfire also includes a drop-down pocket to carry your bow or gun securely along with a webbing loop to attach a holster for your side arm.

The Crossfire pack is due to hit store shelves sometime during the fall of 2014, and will ship with an MSRP of $139.99. It will be available in Realtree Xtra and Mossy Oak Break-Up Infinity.

This week, we’re checking out the Mossberg 590R. While technically part of the company’s tactical shotgun lineup, the 590R would be a great turkey gun for any pump-action afficionado. The model we had in had, the 590R Chisel, a 3-inch chambered 12 gauge, comes with a beautifully Cerakoted polymer-ceramic receiver, which contrasts nicely with its black stock, barrel and heat shield. Tandemkross (TK) has just launched the company's first in-house, semi-automatic .22 LR long gun. Dubbed the TKX22 Light Rifle, it blends the best of this company's Ruger 10/22 compatible race gun components into an impressively lightweight sporting rimfire package.
