ThermaCELL has announced the introduction of its new multipurpose flameless torch, the first torch of its kind to hit the market. Doubling as a mosquito repellent and table lantern, the Mosquito Repellent Flameless Torch is designed functionality to the next level, and should fit right in at any hunting camp.

Providing a safe alternative to open flame torches, ThermaCELL's latest innovation utilizes patented technology to double as a mosquito-repelling device. Like all ThermaCELL products, the Flameless Torch creates a 15x15-foot silent and nearly odor free area of protection. It produces ambient lighting with a flickering, flame-like effect—providing its owner with all of the benefits of a standard torch (and then some), without the potential side-effects. The torch can be transformed to a table-top lantern using the provided lantern base.

The torch's light functions on four AAA batteries, and can be used with or without the mosquito repellant. A single butane cartridges operates said feature, heating a repellent mat releasing allethrin, a synthetic copy of a natural insecticide found in chrysanthemum flowers, into the air creating a 15x15-foot comfort zone. Each torch comes with 1 butane cartridge and 3 repellent mats. Each repellent mat provides up to four hours of protection and each butane cartridge provides up to 12 hours of operation.

"The Flameless Torch is a natural migration for the ThermaCELL brand as we look to grow our presence in the area repellent market," said Allegra Lowitt, vice president of marketing. "For a larger area of protection, these flameless torches are a great, safe addition to any outdoor gathering, especially where biting pests may be an issue. For maximum protection and flexibility, included poles can be adjusted in height from, two to almost five feet. The torch can also be removed from the poles and placed on the provided base to create a table lantern that is almost 8” in height. A removable cover provides weather protection so the torch can be left outside.”

The torch will ship with an MSRP of $39.99.
