The National Rifle Association is pleased to announce the winners of its 2014 Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.) Grand Scholarship, awarding $15,000 to five exceptional students from the 2013 Y.E.S., a seven-day educational summit in Washington, D.C. for high school students.

Following the annual Y.E.S., participants may opt to compete for the Y.E.S. Grand Scholarship by educating their local communities on the positive effects of NRA programs like Eddie Eagle GunSafe, Women On Target and Refuse To Be A Victim. Students must create portfolios documenting their progress over a nine month period and the NRA selects the most inspiring projects.

The Youth Education Summit encourages America's youth to become knowledgeable in both national and local politics. Attendees tour memorials and monuments surrounding the nation's capital as they learn the significance of the American Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the importance of being an active citizen. The program has awarded more than $430,000 in scholarships since its creation in 1996. Funding for Y.E.S. is provided through The NRA Foundation from monies raised by Friends of NRA, a grassroots fund-raising program in support of the shooting sports.
