New for 2025, at least in its factory-loaded cartridge form, Nosler is bringing back their popular Solid Base bullet in their Whitetail Country ammunition line. The impact-extruded Solid Base spitzer bullet features an exposed lead nose that hits hard for reliable, fast and consistent expansion. It’s just what you need to effectively take out whitetail and mule deer at moderate ranges.

Nosler currently offers the Whitetail Country ammo in all your favorite deer hunting cartridges, such as the 6.5 Creedmoor at 140 grains, the .270 Winchester at 130 grains, the 7mm-08 Remington at 140-grains, the .30-30 Winchester at 150 grains, and the .308 Winchester and .30-06, both at 165 grains, which all feature the Solid Base bullet. To increase their offerings for the .350 Legend and .45-70 straight wall firearms, Nosler has developed a Straight Wall projectile for the Whitetail Country line, featuring a flat based semi-spitzer design with a skived jacket that will initiate expansion at the lower velocities these cartridges provide. The 350 Legend is loaded with a 180-grain bullet, while the .45-70 is loaded with a 300-grain bullet.

All cartridges are loaded in Nosler’s top-quality headstamped brass cases.

Our testing revealed that the new Nosler Whitetail Country ammunition is no slouch when it comes to accuracy, delivering sub-MOA, three-shot groups with the .308 Win., the 6.5 Creedmoor and the 7mm-08 Remington cartridges. Some of those groups even hit the ½ MOA mark. Feeding and extraction were posed no issue with any of the loads we tested.

Perhaps the best part of Nosler’s Whitetail County ammunition, other than the tasty venison it will put in your freezer, is the price tag it wears from $34.99-$39.99 for a box of 20 rounds.
