Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is the latest partner to join the Outdoor Stewards of Conservation Foundation’s (OSCF) “Fill A Bag While Filling Your Tag” program. It distributes reusable, biodegradable bags for outdoor enthusiasts to fill with trash they encounter when hunting, fishing, trapping and target shooting—or enjoying any outdoor pursuit.

“Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has a long history of supporting conservation and clean habitats,” said OSCF Board Member Julie Golob. “We appreciate their passion for keeping ecosystems clean and thank them for distributing these reusable, biodegradable bags to their customers who will use them to clean up nature while enjoying the outdoors.”

The “Fill A Bag While Filling Your Tag” program has already distributed more than 100,000 bags to hunters, anglers, trappers and shooters across the United States. As a result, tons of trash have been removed, one piece at a time, to keep the environment clean. Participants are encouraged to follow directions printed on the bags that ask them to post photos and videos of their hauls on social media using the hashtag #TrophyTrash. By doing so it reminds others who the true stewards of conservation are.

“The Fill A Bag program is a natural fit for Texas Parks and Wildlife Department,” said TPWD Hunter Education Coordinator Steve Hall. “We know our customers are conservationists and providing these bags is a great way for them to lead by example through cleaning up both public and private lands across Texas.”

Partners with OSCF’s Fill A Bag effort include the National Rifle Association, Fiocchi Ammunition, Ruger, Marlin, Creedmoor Sports, Federal Ammunition, Hevi-Shot Ammunition, Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Bags can be personalized with partner logos, messages, web addresses and social tags. Companies and organizations interesting in joining the “Fill A Bag While Filling Your Tag” partner program should contact OSCF Executive Director Jim Curcuruto by phoning (203) 450-7202.
