LEDE Victra 20 Modularity

Yankee Hill Machine (YHM) has announced the debut of the Victra-20, a new modular sound suppressor engineered specifically for 20-gauge single-barreled shotguns, plus new Turkey and Skeet choke options for the Victra-12.

"Firearms reviewers and the shotgun community alike embraced the Victra-12 when we announced it in January 2025. With such rapid acclaim, rolling out our 20-gauge version was the logical next step. The V-20 is shorter, lighter and extremely effective at sound suppression, even in its smallest 4-inch configuration," said YHM president Chris Graham.

Victra-20 production models will begin shipping in early 2026. V-20 models will be on display at YHM's SHOT Show booth #20521.

"Shotgunners are increasingly using suppressors, and demand is expanding fast in the 20-gauge category. And like the V-12, the V-20 is priced in keeping with the YHM tradition of providing value for the consumer." said Graham.

The V-20 shares its sibling's proven lightweight modular design. Users can easily re-configure it as a 10-, 8-, 6- or 4-inch suppressor, adapting flexibly to field conditions and personal preferences.

Another key Victra-20 advantage is its intelligent mounting and choke system. Instead of purchasing more costly combination mount/choke units, the Victra user needs only one mount and can then simply swap chokes as desired within the suppressor end cap.

The Victra-20 ships with an Improved Cylinder choke. Full and Modified chokes will also be available. Mounts compatible with popular host shotguns including Remington, Mossberg, Browning and Winchester, plus Beretta and Benelli among others, will be posted on the YHM website when available.

In addition to unveiling the Victra-20, YHM is broadening the range of choke offerings for the Victra-12, with new Turkey and Skeet options for 2026.

"After debuting the V-12, we started hearing feedback from the hunting and target communities seeking additional functionality in the chokes, so here they are. These Turkey and Skeet chokes were precisely engineered to deliver dependable, industry-consistent patterning in the field and on the range," added Graham.

The new Victra-12 chokes will also be available in early 2026.

Will Grizzly Bear Management be Returned to the States?

When the grizzly bear in the Lower 48 was given Endangered Species Act (ESA) protection as a threatened species in 1975, it was supposed to be a temporary protection that would be lifted once populations met or exceeded specific goals. Now more than a half century later and with grizzly populations that have spread and met or far surpassed the goals set in 1975.

USFWS Proposes New Grizzly Bear Management Rule

On July 17 the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) published a proposed rulemaking change on the Federal Register that, if approved, would allow western states to better manage their grizzly bear population. Despite their burgeoning population the big bruins remain on the “endangered” list under the Endangered Species Act (ESA), a fact that has paralyzed regional conservation efforts, impacted other wildlife populations and dramatically increased human/bear conflicts.
