Fiocchi has introduced Arkansas Steel, a waterfowl hunting shotshell engineered for duck and goose hunters. The name pays homage to the storied waterfowling heritage of Arkansas and the famed Delta region—a place where world-class duck hunting traditions run deep. But while its roots honor the heart of the Mississippi Flyway, Arkansas Steel will perform no matter where you hunt. From the flooded timber of the Delta to the prairies of the Central Flyway or the coastal marshes of the Atlantic, the load is built to deliver results across the nation.

Arkansas Steel’s 12-gauge, 3-inch shell delivers a 1-1/5 ounce payload of #2, #3, or #4 steel shot at a blistering 1,550 fps. This promises a hard-hitting impact, retained downrange energy, and clean, ethical kills —even in the toughest wetland conditions.

“Arkansas Steel is built for hunters who don’t settle for second best,” said Christian Hogg, director of Marketing. “From flooded timber to open water, it’s engineered to cycle flawlessly, pattern tightly, and bring the kind of knockdown power that makes every shot count.”

Arkansas Steel comes in a rugged four-box field carton with a sturdy carry handle, making it as portable as it is powerful.

Behind the Bullet: The .308 Norma Magnum

Norma’s ballistician Nils Kvale saw the wisdom of having the velocity and horsepower of the .300 H&H Magnum, but in a shorter, more affordable receiver, and used the H&H case to develop his .358 Norma Magnum in 1959 as well as the .308 Norma Magnum one year later. The .308 Norma Magnum closely resembles the wildcat .30-338 cartridge, though the shoulder of the former is located a bit more toward the base than that of the .308 Norma Magnum. Intrigued?
