GAMO Outdoors USA has announced a brand new iteration of its Swarm magnum Pro air rifle. This GEN3i repeating rifle is fed by a 10-round, horizontally mounted inertia-fed magazine. Indexing by harnessing the inertia force of the rifle, it precisely drops .177 or .22-caliber pellets (depending on chambering) directly into the bore, promoting precision and eliminating the chance for a double feed.

Magazine Gamo Swarm Magnum

The new GAMO Swarm Magnum Pro 10X GEN3i is built around IGT Mach 1 Inert Gas Technology, a gas-piston system that gives small-game hunters up to 1,650 fps. Pellets are released via the company's Custom Action trigger, which boasts a fully adjustable two-stage mechanism. Of course, as will all air-rifles, the forces produced are hard on optics, occurring as they do in two directions. With this in mind, GAMO has included a shockproof and fogproof 3-9x40mm optic. The scope mounts to an 11mm dovetail via a specialized rail mount, with a built-in recoil lug to prevent shifting.

Gamo Swarm Magnum being Cocked

In addition to all the above, a redesigned stock, crafted from automotive-grade materials, gives users comfortable ergonomics paired with a non-slip finish. Sound dampening is also included. The rifle tips the scales at 6.88 pounds, with a 49.2-inch overall length, a 21.3-inch metal-jacketed and rifled steel barrel and a 15-inch length of pull (LOP). While cocking effort is a hefty 41 pounds, trigger-pull weight sits merely between 2.6 and 3.2 pounds. A manual safety engaged and disengages the trigger, while a Shock Wave Absorber (SWA) recoil pad soaks up, up to 74-percent of recoil.

Gamo Swarm Magnum Ready for Action

With 10 shots on tap, a light trigger and fast, repeatable accuracy, the GAMO Swarm Magnum Pro 10X GEN3i is a squirrel hunter's dream. Precise enough for headshots, quiet enough to not spook every critter in the woods, and with enough ammunition on tap for multiple follow-up shots on multiple targets, the rifle is ready to go almost right out of the box. Three Whitetail Traps to Set for Close Shots

Your whitetail hunting location may be as expansive as a national forest or as small as an uncle’s 40-acre woodlot. In either scenario, whitetails have a knack for slipping by just out of shooting range. Whether using a firearm or archery equipment, you do have options to lure whitetails closer. Consider setting a trap this season for your best opportunity at an ethical, in-your-face shot.
