Retay Usa Rimfire

Retay has introduced the Asend, a .22 LR bolt-action rifle available in both classic walnut (Hunter model) and synthetic black (Sporter model) configurations. Built around Retay's precision-drilled special alloy barrel with a sleek black chrome finish, the Asend features a hardchrome bolt action that ensures smooth, reliable cycling in all conditions. The rifle comes equipped with a 3-stage adjustable trigger group that's interchangeable with Remington 700 triggers, giving shooters precise control and the ability to customize their trigger pull. With a threaded barrel (½x28 TPI with thread cap protector) ready for suppressors or muzzle devices, a Picatinny rail mount for optics, and compatibility with the popular Ruger 10/22 rotary magazines, the Asend is purpose-built for serious rimfire enthusiasts and small game hunters.

"The Asend represents Retay's commitment to delivering precision-grade firearms at accessible prices," said Michael Narus, VP of Sales for Retay. "We've equipped the Asend with features you'd expect to find on rifles costing twice as much—our precision-drilled barrels, adjustable triggers, hard chrome action, and threaded barrel come standard. Whether you're competing in NRL22 matches, training new shooters on fundamentals, or pursuing small game, the Asend delivers the accuracy and reliability you need. And with .22LR pricing, you can shoot all day without emptying your wallet."

Features:

  • Precision-Drilled Special Alloy Barrel: Deep-bore drilled from solid stock with black chrome finish ensures consistent accuracy and durability. Available in 16- and 20-inch lengths with 1:16 twist rate.
  • Hard-Chrome Bolt Action
  • 3-Stage Adjustable Trigger
  • Threaded Muzzle
  • Ruger 10/22 Magazine Compatibility

Behind the Bullet: The .308 Norma Magnum

Norma’s ballistician Nils Kvale saw the wisdom of having the velocity and horsepower of the .300 H&H Magnum, but in a shorter, more affordable receiver, and used the H&H case to develop his .358 Norma Magnum in 1959 as well as the .308 Norma Magnum one year later. The .308 Norma Magnum closely resembles the wildcat .30-338 cartridge, though the shoulder of the former is located a bit more toward the base than that of the .308 Norma Magnum. Intrigued?
