TrueTimber's fall lineup of fleece jackets provide an option for almost any temperature, whether worn as outerwear, or under a parka for extra warmth. The line includes the Polar Fleece Wind Proof Jacket, the Full Zip Polar Fleece, the Men's Hybrid Full Zip Jacket and the Men's Grid Fleece 1/4 Zip.

The Polar Fleece Wind Proof Jacket boasts a 280-gsm polar fleece outer shell, to aid comfort and quiet movement. A windproof membrane is also added, to help repel wind and rain. This piece is available in Strata and Kanati patterns. MSRP: $49.95

The Full Zip Polar Fleece is constructed from polyester fleece, and works well as part of a layered system. It is available in colors Charcoal and Navy. MSRP: $24.99

With a tricot lining, The Men's Hybrid Full Zip Jacket is built around quiet movement and comfort. A zippered chest pocket allows for safe storage. This jacket is available in a Charcoal/Kanati combination.

Finally, the Men's Grid Fleece 1/4 Zip is wind and water resistant, in addition to offering a grid fleece neck lining. The fleece is also said to offer a good warmth-to-weight ratio, retaining a good amount of heat with as little bulk as possible. It is available in a Black/Strata combination. MSRP: $24.95

Behind the Bullet: The .308 Norma Magnum

Norma’s ballistician Nils Kvale saw the wisdom of having the velocity and horsepower of the .300 H&H Magnum, but in a shorter, more affordable receiver, and used the H&H case to develop his .358 Norma Magnum in 1959 as well as the .308 Norma Magnum one year later. The .308 Norma Magnum closely resembles the wildcat .30-338 cartridge, though the shoulder of the former is located a bit more toward the base than that of the .308 Norma Magnum. Intrigued? Read on about this often unfairly overlooked hunting classic.
