This week on #SundayGunday, we’re checking out a Davidson’s Exclusive GForce Arms GF5 Plush Over/Under shotgun, a beautiful scattergun born for the upland fields. With a stock and fore end crafted from select grade Turkish walnut, the GF5 boasts beautifully blued 28-inch, Chromoly steel, ventilated rib barrels for a gorgeous contrast.

The most eye-catching feature, however, is the gorgeous laser engraving on the silver finished receiver. With intricate dark black scrolling offset against its burnished silver, the receiver sets itself apart with an air of old-world craftsmanship. Above, a tang safety allows the gun to be quickly readied to fire. Extractors make it easy to retain spent shells once fired. The gun’s grip and fore-end are checkered for excellent purchase, while a rubber buttpad absorbs the recoil from up to three-inch, 12-gauge magnum loads.

GForce GF5 Plush on White

At the front of the barrels, a red fiber-optic tube allows the shooter to easily pick up the front sight even in adverse lighting conditions. The 6.1-pound gun ships with five extended chokes, so each barrel can be set up for different distances. The included chokes are Cylinder, Improved Cylinder, Modified, Improved Modified and Full. All are of a Benelli Mobil thread patterns, so different variants can easily be purchased and swapped in if desired. All this combines to make a gun that shoulders quickly and swings easily, with a crisp, consisted trigger.

Know How: Understanding and Obtaining a Cold-Bore Zero

Have you ever spent hours at the range zeroing a rifle only to learn it is nowhere near center when you go to confirm it at camp? Many attribute this malady to scope shift during travel, and that can sometimes be the case. However, far more often this point-of-impact change can be attributed to the way we zeroed back home.
