Pass It On Outdoors And Savage

Savage Arms is continuing its support of Pass It On–Outdoor Mentors and working to expand opportunities for young hunters to experience safe, mentored hunts. Pass It On-Outdoor Mentors is dedicated to preserving and growing America’s outdoor heritage.

Through the partnership, Savage is providing vital support and resources to help more youth experience hunting firsthand. The company provides firearms, equipment, personnel and funds to help ensure safe and successful experiences afield for young hunters.

“Getting kids in the outdoors is essential to the future of our pastime, and our conservation efforts,” said Beth Shimanski, director of marketing at Savage Arms and board member of Pass It On–Outdoor Mentors. “As a company, Savage is committed to preserving the hunting heritage by fostering new opportunities for the next generation. Personally, it has been rewarding and inspiring to be directly involved. We’re excited for more hunts and hunting experiences done the right way for young hunters.”

In addition to putting more kids in the field, Savage’s support will also allow the organization to recruit and train more mentors. Bridging the gap between young outdoor enthusiasts and the experience that will shape the future of hunting and conservation is another challenge addressed by Savage’s support.

Pass it On–Outdoor Mentors was established in 2002 and has set a goal of reaching 100,000 youngsters by the year 2033. The group scaled its programs initially in Iowa, Kansas and Wisconsin, but is gradually expanding its footprint to other regions in the nation. It’s programs reach youngsters 11 years old or older who have completed Hunter Education.

Last year alone the organization coordinated 800 events attended by more than 2,000 youths. “Through every hunting, fishing, shooting and conservation lesson, we have witnessed young people grow in confidence, resilience and curiosity,” Pass it On–Outdoor Mentors CEO Britany French wrote in the 2024 Impact Report.
