While last year’s launch of the Smith & Wesson’s 1854 lever-action rifle had folks clamoring to get their hands on one of the traditional walnut-stocked or black-synthetic-stocked pistol-caliber rifles, for 2025 the company has upped the appeal even more with the launch of the feature-rich 1854 Stealth Hunter.

Available chambered in .44 Mag., .357 Mag., or .45 Colt, the 1854 Stealth Hunter features an all-black appeal that looks as menacing as the hunter wielding it. Sporting a black synthetic stock with textured grip panels, and a 16.3-inch 410 stainless steel barrel—threaded and capped for the addition of a suppressor or muzzle device—with a black finish on the metal parts, this lever-action measures out to a whopping 33.4-inches in total length, making it nimble and fast-acting. Perfect for carry through thick brush or to hunt with from a blind or stand, the rifle features a flat trigger that provides consistent finger placement and a steady pull, a large-loop lever that rocks smooth and is functionable with gloved hands, a side gate loading port and a removeable magazine tube for safe and easy unloading.

Additional upgrades include a 10.5-inch Picatinny rail for mounting optics like a red-dot or low-powered variable optic, and a newly designed T6 aluminum fore-end complete with 15 M-Lok compatible slots for the attachment of a variety of accessories. A barrel-mounted Hi-Viz H3 fiber-optic front sight sits out front for improved iron-sight visibility and a ghost-ring rear sight is seated on the rear of the optics rail.

"These rifles provide reliability and precision for both hunters and shooting enthusiasts. With the addition of the Stealth Hunter series to the Model 1854 lineup, consumers can now enjoy an even wider selection of calibers, barrel lengths, furniture, and overall aesthetics that are better tailored to meet their specific needs. This collection represents a legacy meticulously designed for performance, ensuring that you can consistently perform at your best," said Corey Beaudreau, product manager of Smith & Wesson Rifles.
