Winchester Arms has introduced its Ranger Rimfire at 2024's SHOT Show. The brand long known for its lever actions is bringing a snappy .22 Long Rifle version to market. Light and fast to the shoulder, the Ranger Rimfire is ready for a day hunting squirrels or some hours at the range, right out of the box.

It comes mounted with iron sights—an adjustable rear to ensure precision, aligning with a hooded front blade to reduce glare. The three-position hammer has dropped, half cocked and cocked positions, while a traditional tubular magazine mounted beneath the barrel holds 15 rounds. That barrel is 20.5-inches long, with a 1:16-inch twist rate to stabilize light .22-caliber projectiles. It is crafted from high-quality chromoly, produced right alongside the Wildcat and Xpert rimfire rifles. Precision boring and button rifling promise years of accurate performance.

The gun's Walnut stock has a straight-grip profile with a satin finish, and a carbine-style fore-end with a steel barrel band. Its length of pull (LOP) is 13-inches, and overtravel on the trigger is adjustable. This combination provides a comfortable shooting experience for a wide range of shooters and statures.

Where the gun really stands apart, however, is its receiver design. Precision machined from billet aluminum and grooved for optic mounts, the receiver bears a single action screw for takedown, cleaning or compact storage. This makes it easy to run a patch from the muzzle through the chamber without damaging rifling, which is further protected by a target-style muzzle crown. In fact, the process is so easy, it is shown in the short video above. Simply align the takedown marks on the slide with the receiver, close the lever and reinsert the screw, and the gun is back together.
