Flambeau Outdoors has unveiled the wood carvings that will be used to produce a new StormFront wigeon decoy. Based on these works of art, we have to believe that the plastic decoy versions will also impress. Like all decoys in the family, the StormFront wigeons will feature oversized keels and "UVision" paint, which mimics the reflective properties of real waterfowl feathers.

Flambeau will also offer a Stormfront Mallard Kit for fall 2013. The kit includes six StormFront mallards (four drakes), cord, weights and weight clips. Given the barriers to entry that new waterfowlers face—including the prerequisite gear—we think duck rookies in particular will see benefit in this instant setup. That is not to suggest veteran duck hunters won't also appreciate the opportunity to purchase decoys, cord and weights in one convenient package.
