Mystery Ranch Scheels Treehouse Collection

Mystery Ranch has collaborated with Scheels and Veil Camo’s West River pattern, which will result in an exclusive run of Treehouse packs for the serious whitetail hunter. The Treehouse 38, Treehouse 16, and Treehouse 9 will be available exclusively at all Scheels store locations and on the Scheels website starting August 1st.

“It has been great watching the Treehouse packs become serious pieces of gear for diehard whitetail hunters across the country,” said Tim Hoffer, North American Hunting Sales Manager at Mystery Ranch. “And now we have taken it up a notch by partnering with Scheels to offer the Treehouse 38, 16 and 9 in their West River camo pattern. Also, the team at Scheels understands the needs of whitetail hunters better than almost anyone out there and have the locations across the country to help hunters find the best pack for their hunt. It is a win-win for whitetail hunters.”

The Treehouse 38 has been the flagship for the Mystery Ranch whitetail series since its introduction in 2021. Loaded with enough carrying capacity for standard whitetail gear, the Treehouse 38 answers the call in most any deer-hunting scenario. The Treehouse16 and 9, on the other hand, are new packs for 2023. Despite being smaller in size, these packs offer very intentional features that fit the needs of shorter hunts that demand less gear, or simply more minimalistic hunters.

Veil’s West River camo pattern is only available in products sold at Scheels, now including the Mystery Ranch Treehouse. The pattern has a dual purpose for treestand hunting; it breaks up human and gear symmetry, while blending well into exposed environments—especially during the later season—which exactly combats the challenges treestand hunters face.

Member's Hunt: Patience is Tough When You Shoot a Big Buck

My phone still in my hands, I texted my teenage son, who was hunting along the field not far away. Trying not to move any part of my body but my thumbs, I sent the message, “Got a buck down, but he’s still alive. Help!” Tucker texted back, “What do you want me to do?” I replied: “Come kill the bastard before he kills me!” Intrigued? Read on.

Behind the Bullet: The .308 Norma Magnum

Norma’s ballistician Nils Kvale saw the wisdom of having the velocity and horsepower of the .300 H&H Magnum, but in a shorter, more affordable receiver, and used the H&H case to develop his .358 Norma Magnum in 1959 as well as the .308 Norma Magnum one year later. The .308 Norma Magnum closely resembles the wildcat .30-338 cartridge, though the shoulder of the former is located a bit more toward the base than that of the .308 Norma Magnum. Intrigued? Read on about this often unfairly overlooked hunting classic.
