CVA has announced its new Optima V3 muzzleloader, building on the company's standard Optima platform with modern upgrades for versatility and performance. The redesigned CVA Optima fills the sweet spot between CVA’s entry-level Wolf and premium Accura models—offering enhanced features without the premium price tag.

Multi-Use Muzzleloader

Hunters come in all shapes and sizes—and so should their muzzleloaders. That’s why the new Optima features an adjustable comb with two included cheek risers—each a different height—for a more customized fit. It also includes an adjustable length of pull with a removable spacer, allowing you to tailor the fit whether you're layering up for late-season weather or setting it up for a new shooter in the family. It’s a level of customizability you won’t find in most muzzleloaders.

Meanwhile, the 26-inch fluted stainless steel barrel strikes a balance between maneuverability and long-range performance. Whether hunting thick cover or glassing over distance, the Optima delivers consistent, reliable accuracy.

Optima V3 Package

A semi-vertical grip and ambidextrous palm swell yields a more natural hold and better trigger control. The company has also upgraded the Picatinny rail for optics mounting and added an ambidextrous hammer spur to ensure ease of use from either side. This muzzleloader is available in a variety of finishes including OD Green, Black and Realtree Legacy, and can be ordered either with the aforementioned Picatinny rail or Williams fiber-optic sights. Scope packages are also available, with the KonusPro 3-9x40mm BDC Reticle, soft case and PowerBelt AeroLite Bullets.

Know How: Understanding and Obtaining a Cold-Bore Zero

Have you ever spent hours at the range zeroing a rifle only to learn it is nowhere near center when you go to confirm it at camp?
