MAIN Premier Divide

BPI Outdoors / Bergara Rifles has announced the Premier Divide Rifle. Representing a lighter, backcountry-minded version of the Bergara HMR, the Bergara Divide bridges the gap between a tactical and hunting rifle, pairing Bergara's proprietary Cure Carbon Barrel with a custom AG Composites Chalk Branch carbon stock.

Ben Fleming, Bergara’s vice president of Sales said, “The Divide rifle is appropriately named because it fills the divide between a lightweight hunting rifle and a dedicated long range rifle. The divide is built with the best components our team has to offer and comes fitted with Bergara’s new Cure Carbon Fiber Barrel. Our team pulled out all the stops when it came to bringing this rifle to life! I couldn’t be prouder and more excited in their hard work, and this rifle will absolutely shine in the field.”

Cure Barrels are uniquely optimized both mechanically and thermodynamically via a proprietary, patent pending, carbon weave with embedded stainless strands that move heat and cut cown on inconsistency. Every aspect of the design was optimized to yield an ultralight, stiff, straight, rugged barrel, shot after shot. The Cure reduces barrel weight by over two pounds, without suffering the common impact migration problems of light-profile barrels.

The Bergara Premier action is a two-lug system that features a separate floating bolt head to ensure contact with the lug abutments in the action. It also features a cone-shaped bolt nose for smooth feeding of the cartridge, and a spring-loaded sliding plate extractor located in the front of the lower locking lug. The one-piece bolt body is stainless steel with a pad at the rear to accept the threaded-in bolt handle. The bolt head, the non-rotating gas shield, the bolt handle, and bolt shroud are fully nitrided for extreme durability, as well as its self-lubricating properties.

The custom AG Composites Chalk Branch 100% carbon stock with adjustable cheek riser is similar to their HMR stock, in a much lighter carbon package. The stock is finished in custom Erosion Rogue Camo. Finally, partnering with Trigger Tech Triggers allows use of the patented Frictionless Release Technology to increase performance and accuracy for the end-user by eliminating creep and heavy trigger pulls.

The Divide will be available in 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, .308 Winchester, and .300 Winchester Magnum, weighing a mere 7.2 - 7.4 pounds with a 22-24-inch barrel length, depending on the caliber. For more information, please visit bergarausa.com. MSRP: $2499

Boone and Crockett Club Poaching Data Published

Did you know that the majority of wildlife violations never result in citations? Sure, with so much ground to cover, it may be easy to guess that most violations committed deep in the backcountry will never see the light of day, but the scale is still quite surprising.
