The war against American citizens’ Second Amendment-protected rights has never hit closer to home, according to authors David R. Keene (past president and current member of the NRA Board of Directors) and Thomas Mason. In their new book, Shall Not Be Infringed: The New Assaults on Your Second Amendment, Keene and Mason explain in clear-cut language with well-researched attention to detail how the anti-gun liberal progressives, along with many international forces, are legislating and regulating this cherished right out of existence.

The book informs readers of the historic battles for gun rights, stretching back decades here in the United States. The authors, with personal anecdotes filling the pages, detail the true motivation behind the Progressive Left’s ideological opposition to firearms.

Keene sees the opposition as having a quasi-religious dedication: “It’s almost like the people, who in the 1960s and 1970s [said] that if we just unilaterally disarm the country, the world would be a wonderful place. It didn’t work internationally. It hasn’t worked inside the country. It’s because of that religious fervor that this battle never ends.”

Though a short read, Shall Not Be Infringed examines the current state of firearm freedom for American gun owners, while at the same time exposing citizen-disarmament schemes pushed by international operators at the United Nations and abroad. The book aims to give those in danger of losing their freedoms the information they need to be prepared against the anti-gun position.

Speaking to the logic of the arguments used, Keene said, “When you get into these debates, then the evidence comes out and the people in the middle say that it really doesn’t make a whole lot of sense [to restrict self-defense]. The logic of the anti-gun position makes no sense. It is all based on, and goes back to, a sense that there is no right of self-defense.”

The U.N. Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) dominates the second portion of the work, explaining the efforts of the last 15 years to undermine our constitutionally protected rights at the hands of a coalition of lobbyists, politicians, well-funded international interests and members of foreign governments with little understanding or appreciation for America’s historical need for firearms. Keene and Mason take the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton to task for their efforts to ramp up anti-gun sentiments and change the national culture. The role of big media in the United States to distort and color the facts is also addressed.

Finally, the authors give suggestions to readers on how they can curtail the efforts by anti-gunners to limit and do away with Second Amendment-protected rights. Shall Not Be Infringed is a must-read for those on the frontlines of our battle for freedom.
