The June 2024 NSSF-adjusted National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) figure of 1,059,037 is a decrease of 4.7 percent compared to the June 2023 NSSF-adjusted NICS figure of 1,110,696.
Firearm Background Checks Break Records Amid COVID-19 Concerns
March saw 3.7 million background checks conducted, the most since the system was created in 1998, fully eclipsing the previous record of 3.3 million set in December 2015.
Gun Sales Potentially on the Rise in March
Gun sales have been good in 2016. The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) has released the numbers on its March 2016 NSSF-adjusted National Instant Criminal Back Ground Check Systems (NICS) tracking. March produced a figure of 1,297,275, an increase of 9.2 percent compared to March 2015.
