On this week's #SundayGunday, we’re checking out the RXD30Ti, a collaboration between Dead Air Silencers and Ruger Firearms, resulting in one quiet, lightweight, backcountry suppressor. Designed specifically to complement Ruger firearms, the RXD line is a workhorse in it’s own right, providing excellent sound mitigation and recoil reduction.

The RXD30Ti achieves this by combining two cutting-edge baffle technologies, Triskelion and Nomad. 3D-printed Triskellion baffles, named for the design which mimics three interlocking spirals, cool up to 50-percent faster than tradition designs. This is partially due to the gas management provided by the Triskellion baffle system, which sports a rough, stepped surface to disrupt gas flow, before shunting it in multiple different directions.

Past the Triskelion baffle system are the conical, Nomad baffles, which finish the job of slowing and suppressing gasses, until they eventually flow out of vent-holes at the front of the suppressor, to reduce backpressure. This plays no small part in helping reduce recoil by 40-percent or so, over a bare muzzle.

The suppressor is constructed from 6AL4V Titanium, as the Ti in its name implies, with a .30-caliber bore diameter. It is rated for 4400 ft.-lbs., which mean it can handle roughly up to .300 PRC. Cooler still, while the silencer is Hub Compatible, and ships with a Direct Thread Brake Mount, the front of it is compatible with Dead Air’s R-Series front caps, which means you can swap out the included RXD-series flash hider for a standard cap, or even an E-Brake. While that will add a touch to the suppressor’s 7.34-inch overall length and 12.4 ounce weight, it may be worthwhile if you’re shooting a real bruiser.
