First Look: CCI Clean-22 Hyper Velocity Rimfire Ammunition

CCI has released Clean-22 Hyper Velocity, allowing shooters all the benefits of exclusive Clean-22 technology, while still maintaining the flat trajectories and power of an extreme-velocity load. Clean-22 Hyper Velocity clocks in at 1,550 fps, while the advanced polymer coating on the 31-grain, lead, round-nose bullet reduces fouling. This can be of particular use when shooting suppressed, as many folks have begun to do when shooting rimfires, both to protect hearing or preserve further opportunities on nearby squirrels or other varmint.

“By adding the Clean-22 Hyper Velocity to the lineup we now have a load in all common and popular muzzle-velocity windows,” said CCI’s product director Jason Slinkard. “This new SKU rounds off the Clean-22 product family. Customers are looking for variety, and CCI has always delivered. Shooters were often asking for a high velocity option in this product line, and this purple stuff is it!”

CCI Clean-22 Hyper Velocity’s purple polymer bullet coating reduces lead fouling in the barrel without leaving residue. This also cuts lead buildup in suppressors by 60 to 80 percent over standard ammunition. An astronomical reduction, this has the potential to greatly extend the life of any suppressor. Underneath, its round-nose bullet utilizes optimized bullet geometry for improved accuracy, and contributes to reliable loading and functioning in semi-automatic firearms.

An incredible double-value for dedicated plinkers, CCI Clean-22 Hyper Velocity promises to cut down on cleaning time, while still maintaining a high enough velocity to keep groupings rimfire-consistent out to impressive distances. Hunters in particular should take interest, as this ammunition could make an excellent training tool for more economically learning wind calls and practicing other fundamentals before taking to the field.
