Modular chassis systems are all the rage these days, including among hunters. For 2019, Remington has addressed that trend with its new Model 700 CP handgun. Built around the new Remington 700 Chassis system, these short-action handguns will initially be chambered in .223 Rem., .300 AAC Blackout, and .308 Win. Barrel length will be 10.5 inches except for the .308 models, which will sport 12.5-inch barrels.

The hammer-forged aluminum chassis on the Model 700 CP features a standard Magpul MIAD pistol grip attachment system, rendering the consumer capable of customizing to suit his taste. There is a rear stock adaptor that enables fitting with a Mil-Spec MSR stock or a tactical arm brace. The handguard is M-LOK compatible, and each Model 700 CP comes with a detachable AICS-style 10-round magazine.

The trigger is user-adjustable from 3.5 to 5 pounds, and the barrel is threaded to be suppressor or muzzle device ready. The chassis features a hard-coat anodized finish, and the barrel is Cerakoted. Overall length is just 20.81 inches (21.75 inches in .308 Win.).

The new Model 700 CP has an MSRP of $1,020. For more information, visit remington.com.
