SIG Sauer is known as a quality producer of military and law enforcement firearms that come at a premium price. Previously SIG had an association with the hunting market by way of its sister brands, Blaser, Sauer and Mauser, until they were separated approximately 10 years ago to serve the hunting market as stand-alone entities.

Coyotes and feral hogs, beware. SIG Sauer rolled out its new ECHO1 Digital Thermal Imaging Reflex Sight at SHOT Show 2017, and we could have played with it on the range all day.

SIG Sauer really earns the title of its Electro-Optics division with is new Kilo 2400 ABS Rangefinder. Don't believe us? We saw it range out to as far as 2,400 yards reliably.

With the launch of its new line of BDX (Ballistic Data Xchange) rangefinders and riflescopes, SIG Sauer brings precision optics squarely into the information age, allowing for a seamless exchange of data between one’s riflescope, rangefinder and smartphone.

The new SIG Sauer BDX app/rangefinder/scope system will show you exactly which aiming point to use for a direct hit out to 800 yards. As SIG advertises, just “connect the dot.”

It’s a new era as the company delivers products for the hunting and sport optics market.

The acronym embedded in the nomenclature of the SIG Sauer BDX system says it all—Ballistic Data Xchange is exactly what occurs when using the optics system. It is three units—a riflescope, laser rangefinder and smartphone app—which work in sync to ensure hunters fire at distant targets with certainty.

For spot and stalk hunting where you may need to frequently look out to around 1,000 yards—particularly to make trophy judgments—the Oscar3 image-stabilizing mini spotting scope is an ideal device that won't add a lot of weight to your kit.
