This week, we’re taking a closer look at the Savage Impulse Mountain Hunter. While not quite a featherweight, the Mountain Hunter boasts a Proof Research carbon-fiber-wrapped stainless steel barrel, which helps cut about 1.5 pounds off the gun. Savage's trademark AccuFit system means the rifle can be customized to fit any shooter, while its factory-installed AccuTrigger can be tuned to between 1.5 and 4 pounds.
