As .410 loads continue to improve, its become a popular bore size for serious turkey hunters looking for a new challenge. Savage Arms has recognized this trend, and created a dedicated gobbler gun, perfect for downing Toms. The Stevens 301 Turkey is a light, fast-handling break-action, perfect for those who appreciate the challenge of a .410 bore. The single-shot shotgun boasts a removable one-piece rail, making it easy to equip with an optic. Despite this, the gun does come with a bead sight on its 26-inch barrel, compatible with TruGlo sight systems. That barrel, by the way, has been optimized for Heavyweight TSS turkey loads, a favorite among turkey hunters, and its chamber will handle up to a 3-inch load. For easy attachment of a sling, swivel studs are positioned on both the stock and forend of the gun.

“We built the 301 Turkey guns around Federal’s Heavyweight TSS turkey loads,” Jessica Treglia, senior brand manager at Savage Arms, said. “These shotguns are light, which makes them easy to hold still while you’re calling in birds. The 26-inch barrel produces a tight pattern, which allows hunters to take ethical shots at longer ranges. If you’re up to the challenge of hunting with a .410, you’ll love the 301 Turkey models.”

For those wanting a larger bore, the 301 Turkey does also come in 12 and 20 gauge. Find out more about this turkey-minded scatter gun, available in Mossy Oak Bottomland, Obsession, or with an Olive-Drab thumb-hole stock, in our #SundayGunday video on the firearm. For still more information on the gun, which comes with an Extra-Full choke included (Win. choke pattern 1/2-32UN), and even a pre-mounted red-dot in its XP configuration, please visit savagearms.comMSRP: $219-$239
