TenPoint Crossbow Technologies has launched the Vapor RS470, delivering speeds up to 470 fps. The crossbow measures just 6.5-inches wide, and weighs 8 pounds fully assembled, a half-pound less than previous flagship models from TenPoint.

Featuring an ACUslide cocking and de-cocking system, which utilizes an Auto-Brake Gear System, the Vapor cocks and de-cocks safe and silent. While de-cocking with the ACUslide, the user can remove their hand from the handle at any point, with no other action required, and the handle will stop in place. The new 7.5-inch Xtend Adjustable Crank Handle, meanwhile, reduces cocking effort to five-pounds and stores securely into the butt-stock.

A patented reverse-draw bow assembly draws the string through the riser, creating a 17-inch power stroke. This elongated stroke is crucial in creating a smoother, quieter shot, with added speed at a reduced draw weight. Additionally, a center-mounted riser provides balance, eliminating the “nose heavy” feel of traditional crossbows to ease hold and increasing accuracy.

Physically drawing back the string is an RX7-Cam system, which rotates 404-degrees to produce the bow's 470 fps. A Vector-Quad four-cable system also helps eliminate cam lean, and generate straight-nock travel.

To loose shots, an S1 two-stage, zero-creep trigger boasts a roller-sear system, delivering a consistent 3.5-pound pull. This trigger also comes equipped with a DFI (Dry-Fire Inhibitor), and is fitted with a nylon-filament arrow-retention brush for improved arrow grip and alignment, as well as reduced noise and vibration. An integrated string-stop system further reduces this.

Finally, the RS470 sports a 20-inch Micro-Trac fluted aluminum barrel, reducing flight-deck surface by 50 percent. This, in turn, is fastened to the two-piece Tech-X stock, which combines with the Evo-X Marksman Precision Scope for comfortable eye-level alignment.
