New HammerDown ammunition, from Federal, is designed for optimal cycling and performance in the lever-gun platform. From their flattened tips, designed with a tube magazine in mind, to velocities fine-tuned to produce superior ballistics and terminal performance through lever-action barrel lengths, HammerDown promises to give lever-gun hunters an extra edge in the field. Coming in soft- or hollow-points, HammerDown bullets are molecularly bonded, and adjusted for accuracy and expansion at typical lever-action velocities.

Designed in conjunction with Henry Repeating Arms, Federal has selected .327 Federal Mag., .357 Mag., .44 Rem. Mag., .45 Colt, .30-30 Win., and .45-70 Gov't for the line's initial launch, with .35 Rem. soon to follow. Their nickel-plated brass cases have been chamfered, with specialized geometry on the front face of the case's rim to improve cycling. For more information, please visit federalpremium.comMSRP: $19.99/box of 20 ($38.99 for .45-70 Gov't)

Behind the Bullet: The .308 Norma Magnum
