Aside from days spent in the wilderness tracking, scouting and hunting, range day is one of my favorite days. As hunters, we know how important it is to keep our skills sharp and to practice with our equipment until we know it intimately. Hours spent at the range exponentially improve your chances of success in the field, and practice makes perfect. Range day takes prep: Aside from having the right equipment packed, you need to ensure that you’re comfortable, protected from the elements and have the flexibility to move. At SHOT Show 2018, we researched the latest range day apparel and have compiled a list of the top attire from 5.11 Tactical for both men and women.

They’re stylish and comfortable enough for everyday wear, but built extra tough and rugged for the range. MSRP: $69.99; 511tactical.com.

5.11 Aerial Shirt
The Aerial Shirt is cool and highly breathable, engineered with a moisture-wicking polyester fabric body, mesh lining on the back yoke and dissolving yarn fabric for breathe-through ventilation to keep you cool and dry in the most rugged environments. The snap buttons are ideal for CCW access. MSRP: $49.99; 511tactical.com.

The XPRT 3.0 Waterproof Boot features a Vibram Megagrip outsole that helps grip both wet and dry terrains, and an OrthoLite Imperial foot bed for higher energy return and less fatigue.  It also features a Kevlar heel, side ankle abrasion protection, and an eVent Protect BBP Waterproof lining. Offered in both black and dark coyote colors, these boots are affordably priced for maximum functionality in a highly covert style. MSRP: $209.99; 511tactical.com.

5.11 Cascadia Windbreaker Jacket
New for 2018, the Cascadia Windbreaker lightweight jacket packs into its own pocket, making it a go-anywhere, easily packable jacket.  It features venting behind the shoulders, a durable polyester fabric with a DWR finish and two-way YKK zippered front pass-through pockets to easily access CCW.  It’s made for those days on the range when weather and temperatures are fickle and ever-changing. Functional, durable and affordable, this grab-and-go jacket comes in five stylish colors to keep you warm and prepared for any climate. MSRP: $79.99; 511tactical.com

Michigan Mayor Looks Down on Guns and Dogs
