Burris Optics is offering a $100 mail-in rebate on the purchase of a Veracity riflescope from now through Sept. 30, 2017.

The Veracity is Burris' top-of-the-line hunting scope, and designed for everything from small game and predators to dangerous game. The Veracity is waterproof and offers a 30mm nitrogen-filled body tube to help prevent internal fogging in the cold and rain. Veracity scopes features high-grade glass and have a Hi-Lume multi-coating for low-light performance.

Four Veracity scope variants are covered in the rebate offer. They include:

• 2-10x42 (Model #200621)
• 3-15x50 (Model #200636)
• 4-20x50 (Model #200640 and #200641)
• 5-25x50 (Model #200650, #200651 and #200652)

As noted, the rebate is of the mail-in variety. Consumers will need to fill out the appropriate paperwork (detailed at the Burris Optics website) and mail it to:

Behind the Bullet: The .308 Norma Magnum

Norma’s ballistician Nils Kvale saw the wisdom of having the velocity and horsepower of the .300 H&H Magnum, but in a shorter, more affordable receiver, and used the H&H case to develop his .358 Norma Magnum in 1959 as well as the .308 Norma Magnum one year later. The .308 Norma Magnum closely resembles the wildcat .30-338 cartridge, though the shoulder of the former is located a bit more toward the base than that of the .308 Norma Magnum. Intrigued?
