It's hunters' lucky day on the opening morning of the 44th SCI Hunters' Convention in Las Vegas as the Mandalay Bay Convention Center exhibit hall doors open to reveal a sportsmen's marketplace. With 1,200 booths covering 34 hunting-related categories and the world's greatest taxidermy setting the stage, your head will be on a pivot.

Trust me: If the reason you're here is to book a hunt, get crackin' ASAP. "Focus, Grasshopper" because with so much to see and do, three days isn't much  time as you get sidetracked visiting with buddies from hunting camp, conservation fundraising banquets and like-minded SCI and NRA members.

While getting through the aisles won't be easy amongst 20,000-plus other attendees—many of whom will be trying to do the same thing--enjoy yourself and take advantage of the opportunity to chat with the guides and outfitters who are here to offer their  services and cater to your needs. After all, the SCI show is all about you—the SCI member!

Michigan Mayor Looks Down on Guns and Dogs

“If you’ve got a gun, you should be ashamed of yourself,” said Grand Rapids Mayor David LaGrand. NRA-ILA also noted that in his response to a police K-9 chasing down a suspect, LaGrand said: “It is time that we ask, ‘What are dogs good for?’ Like, if you need a dog to find someone in the woods, get a hound dog. If you need to chase somebody in a backyard, why couldn’t you do that with a drone? If my dog did what I saw in that video, I’d put my dog down.”
