At SHOT Show 2016, Weatherby premiered its new Vanguard Camilla, a rifle designed exclusively with the huntress in mind. The company's mission, from the start, was to craft a rifle that was designed from the ground up for women, by women—and not to just make a smaller, pinker version of a standard Vanguard. The result is the Camilla, which is now shipping to stores around the country.

Roy Weatherby was the godfather of the “speed kills” mantra, and so he designed his rifle cartridges to be the fastest and therefore the hardest hitting. Over 70 years later, the company is, er, sticking to its guns with the release of what is the fastest production 6.5-caliber cartridge, the new 6.5-300 Weatherby Magnum. Since 1958, Roy Weatherby’s darling, his namesake Mark V rifle, has changed very little, and that’s one of the reasons it’s so recognizable. For 2016, Weatherby has introduced several tweaks its flagship New Mark V that will allow it to remain relevant in today’s hyper-competitive market.

Introduced in the mid-1940s, the 7mm Weatherby Magnum case has minimal taper, maximizing powder capacity, and the correlative muzzle velocities show Roy Weatherby’s penchant for speed. Anything the popular 7mm Rem. Mag. will do, the 7mm Weatherby will do just a bit faster.
