It feels like just yesterday that we awarded Benelli's Ethos with the Golden Bullseye for Shotgun of the Year. On the heels of that announcement, Benelli is expanding its now award-winning line, with the introduction of a 20-gauge edition.

Building off the success of its A17—winner of our Golden Bullseye Award for Rifle of the Year—the A22 Magnum is, as you might expect, chambered for .22 WMR and features the same delayed-blowback semi-automatic action as the original A17.

Last year Savage Arms wowed consumers with the introduction of its A17—winner of our Golden Bullseye Award for Rifle of the Year—so a line expansion was inevitable. The company delivered the first of what should likely be many A17 variants at SHOT Show. Coming in 2016 are Sporter models of the award-winning rifle.

Browning Packs have done well since first hitting the market last year—they received our Golden Bullseye Award for Gear of the Year, after all—and the brand seems intent on upping the ante for 2016. The first new introduction was announced this week in the Buck1700, a lightweight pack designed specifically for the tree stand hunter.

Franchi's Affinity line was a hit when it dropped a few years ago—so much so that it was an awarded a Golden Bullseye from our sister publication, American Rifleman. For 2017, the company decided it was time to take the Affinity to the next level, and as such it has announced a redesign.

It's safe to say that the Benelli ETHOS was well-received. Heck, we gave it a Golden Bullseye Award for Shotgun of the Year. So it wasn't much of a surprise when Benelli continued to flesh out the ETHOS line last year with the introduction of a 20-gauge variant. For 2016, the company is taking things a step further and releasing a 28-gauge ETHOS.

When American Hunter announced its 2016 Golden Bullseye honorees late last year, it did indeed name products in 10 categories that met or exceeded those standards. One of the standouts—and a seasonably relevant one, too—was the 2016 Ammo of the Year: Winchester’s Shot-Lok.

The founder of Crimson Trace, Lew Danielson, has officially announced his retirement. Danielson—winner of our 2015 NRA Golden Bullseye Pioneer Award—co-founded Crimson Trace in the backroom of an Oregon machine shop in 1994. It eventually grew into one of the industry's more renowned companies, and recently sold to Smith & Wesson for $95 million.
