Timney Triggers has announced the expansion of its Calvin Elite trigger series to include models for the popular Ruger 10/22 rifle.

The Timney Calvin Elite replacement trigger for the 10/22 platform is a one-piece complete trigger system made from CNC machined 6061-T6 aircraft-grade billet aluminum. The trigger, sear and hammer are made of heat-treated steel and are wire EDM cut to ensure durability.

The self-contained, 100 percent drop-in trigger is ready to install in your rifle—no additional gunsmithing or adjusting is required. The trigger is set at two pounds from the factory, and features a Timney-designed extended magazine release that can be operated by one finger and an auto bolt release.

Additionally, the Calvin Elite trigger comes with four different shoes: curved, flat, heeled and knurled. All shoes are fully-adjustable for length-of-pull, cast and height. All necessary tools for adjustments are included.

The Timney Ruger 10/22 Calvin Elite Trigger has a retail price of $269.95. For more information, go to timneytriggers.com.

Behind the Bullet: The .308 Norma Magnum

Norma’s ballistician Nils Kvale saw the wisdom of having the velocity and horsepower of the .300 H&H Magnum, but in a shorter, more affordable receiver, and used the H&H case to develop his .358 Norma Magnum in 1959 as well as the .308 Norma Magnum one year later. The .308 Norma Magnum closely resembles the wildcat .30-338 cartridge, though the shoulder of the former is located a bit more toward the base than that of the .308 Norma Magnum. Intrigued?
