LEDE NRA Foundation 2026 Grants

The NRA Foundation is pleased to announce that 2026 grant applications will open on August 4, 2025. Since its inception in 1990, The NRA Foundation has awarded over $509 million in support of more than 65,000 grants to eligible nonprofit organizations across the nation. These grants are a critical resource for programs that promote firearm safety, youth education, law-enforcement training, conservation efforts, and marksmanship instruction.

As the charitable arm of the National Rifle Association, The NRA Foundation proudly allocates 50 percent of net proceeds from local Friends of NRA events to fund programs within the states where the funds are raised. The remaining 50 percent is used to support national initiatives including Youth and Women’s Programs, Range Services, and the Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program.

“In 2024 alone, The NRA Foundation awarded more than $8.8 million to nonprofit organizations through our State Fund Grant Program,” said Ruthann Sprague, assistant director of Grant Outreach & Strategy. “Our mission is to serve the needs of freedom-loving Americans and ensure that the next generation understands the values and responsibilities of safe firearm ownership.”

Here are just a few examples of NRA Foundation grants awarded over the past year, demonstrating the measurable impact this funding has on communities across the country:

  • USA High School Clay Target League National Championship – Supported by Foundation funding, the League engaged more than 53,000 students in 2024, giving young shooters the chance to compete on a national stage.
  • USA Shooting – Received over $752,000 over the past three years, helping develop Olympic and Paralympic athletes.
  • Hilo High Vikings (Hawaii) – Awarded $15,000 for air rifles, scopes, and stands, contributing to a championship-winning season.
  • Montgomery County Constables (Texas) – Received five grants totaling over $13,600 for ammunition to support deputy training.
  • Durham County Wildlife Club (North Carolina) – Granted $2,390 for ammunition to host a Women On Target® Instructional Shooting Clinic.
  • Ketchikan Junior Shotgun League (Alaska) – Received $13,640 to support travel and tournament expenses. The team won the HAA Combined Novice/Intermediate Division at the 2025 State Championship.
  • Fontana High School Marine Corps JROTC (California) – Awarded over $3,300 to support marksmanship competition readiness.

These stories reflect just a fraction of the thousands of programs that benefit each year from the generous support of Friends of NRA fundraising and NRA Foundation grants.
