On this week's #SundayGunday, we’re checking out the Savage Model 110 Trail Blazer, a dedicated hunting rifle that blends the best of classic 110 functionality with modern performance enhancing features.
Let’s start with the stock. In place of the AccuStock that has become commonplace among 110s of the last decade or so, the 110 Trail Blazer sports a 110 Trophy Stock colored in Flat Dark Gray. This stock still boasts plenty of adjustment, with a Length of Pull that can easily be set between 12.75 and 13.75 inches. The comb is soft to soak up recoil, and positions the eye well with the 0-MOA stretch of Picatinny rail that sits atop the receiver. Just as the comb aligns the eye with your optic, the near-vertical grip on the gun positions the trigger finger perfectly for a smooth pull on the gun’s AccuTrigger. That AccuTrigger lives up to its name, with an adjustment range from 2.5 to 6 pounds. Out front, the stock’s fore-end is textured and shaped for purchase, with a sling attachment built in to mirror one on the buttstock.

Up top, the classic 110 action is run by a jeweled bolt with a stout handle, and feeds from a detachable box magazine holding two to four rounds, depending on caliber. A carbon steel, heavy sporter barrel sends lead downrange, with straight fluting to add rigidity and drop weight. The gun’s muzzle is threaded for a suppressor or brake, though pitch is dependent on chambering, as are barrel lengths, which run from 16.5 to 20 inches. Last but not least, lefties take note! The 110 Trail Blazer is available in left-handed configurations.
