This week, we're taking a look at the Nosler M48 Mountain Carbon in 27 Nosler. While this is not the first time we've taken a look at this distinctive bolt-action, it is the first time we've seen it chambered in this cartridge. A .277-sized projectile with enough powder to make it a big-game standout, this round seems almost built for the rifle—in fact, maybe it was. For more information on this exceptional rifle-round combination, check out the video embedded above, hosted by Editor-in-Chief Scott Olmsted, and Digital Associate Editor David Herman.

Hardware Review: Steyr Pro Hunter III SX

While its most recognizable gun remains the ever-futuristic-looking AUG tactical bullpup first made in 1977 and still used by militaries worldwide, Steyr also makes handguns and hunting rifles. Its Pro Hunter III SX rifle is an all-around hunting rifle and a great example of Steyr quality, a trait much easier felt than described. I’ll try it anyway.
