Brown tread on bottom of Dryshod Barnstable
Built for the wettest and muddiest of conditions, Dryshod has introduced the Barnstable boot. Designed specifically for women, the Barnstable features a tractable hand-cut rubber outsole with a compression-molded, fully cured rubber heel to deliver added grip and traction in the soft sorts of soil found out back of your farm, or favorite hunting locale. The upper, as with the tread, is comprised of a ChemFlex chemical-resistant rubber overlay that stands up to caustic chemicals. Further helping keep the Barnstable boot clean and functional, the roll-down calf pipe is treated with Hydrokote water-repellent.

For warmth in cold weather, the Barnstable boasts a foam-insulated bootie made from fully waterproof, 5mm DensopreneInside is a four-way stretch breathable airmesh lining, intended to minimize moisture buildup. A removable molded EVA sock-liner and steel shank are included for maximum arch support.

To increase comfort and convenience, the Barnstable features a scalloped top line to reduce friction along the calf, and comes with integrated back-pull tabs to assist in donning the boots  when wearing heavy socks. A molded-in kick heel similarly allows the boots to be easily removed.

For more information on this boot, available in high- or mid-rise heights, in either black or brown, please visit dryshodusa.comMSRP: $124.95-134.95

Behind the Bullet: The .308 Norma Magnum

Norma’s ballistician Nils Kvale saw the wisdom of having the velocity and horsepower of the .300 H&H Magnum, but in a shorter, more affordable receiver, and used the H&H case to develop his .358 Norma Magnum in 1959 as well as the .308 Norma Magnum one year later. The .308 Norma Magnum closely resembles the wildcat .30-338 cartridge, though the shoulder of the former is located a bit more toward the base than that of the .308 Norma Magnum. Intrigued?
