As the days shorten and the rut begins to wrap up, a few hardcore hunters will resist the urge to hang up their gear for the year, and will hunt into the late season. For those who brave the frigid temperatures that so often come with late season excursions, Irish Setter has released IceTrek Boots. These waterproof hunting boots come with 1600 grams of PrimaLoft insulation with ThermalBoost, strategically placed into zones that lose heat most easily. The ThermalBoost, meanwhile, provides the equivalent of an extra 400 grams of additional insulation, while minimizing bulk.

The boots' toe box is built around the King Toe, which provides extra space and helps trap warm air around the toes. The Ice Claw RPM-LS outsoles feature RPM composite material and rubber pods, for traction on snow, ice and variable terrain. Rubber lugs have also been added for better traction in mushy conditions. The heel and toe meanwhile feature Armatec protection guards against ground hazards. For deep snow, a gaiter clip is integrated into the boots' construction.

As far as comfort is concerned, the IceTrek's upper is constructed from lightweight, breathable and abrasion-resistant polyester, with a memory-foam collar to fit the ankle for stability in the boot shaft. UltraDry waterproofing keeps feet away from moisture, while ScentBan lining delivers scent control through a process that kills odor-causing bacteria. Some IceTrek models even feature BOA lacing systems, which make it quicker to adjust laces, even without removing one's gloves. irishsetterboots.com
