A brand-new Mauser for less than $700? That's what hunters get with the M18. The rifle features a new action from Mauser that has a full-diameter bolt, three-position safety, adjustable trigger and polymer, double-stack detachable box magazine that holds five rounds. It also has a cold-hammer-forged barrel and a synthetic stock. Removing the stock's recoil pad by pushing on the Mauser-logoed buttons along the sides reveals an area inside the stock for storing a cleaning kit or other essentials. Currently the M18 is available in .308 Win. and .30-06 Sprg.; this summer it will also be offered in .243 Win., .270 Win., 7mm Rem. Mag. and .300 Win. Mag.
