The Savage Arms A17 was a bit of a hit in 2015, and for good reason. It featured a unique, delayed-blowback action that allowed the typically "too hot" .17 HMR cartridge to cycle reliably in a semi-automatic rifle. In the wake of the A17's success, Savage announced the A22 Mag. Now, for 2017, the company is appealing to diehard fans of .22 rimfire with the announcement of the A22 LR.

The A22 semi-automatic 22LR features a straight-blowback action, the same thread-in headspace system as the brand's centerfire rifles, a 10-round rotary magazine, a steel receiver and the Savage AccuTrigger. It's due to be available in the coming year, and we'll have more information on it shortly.

Features

• 22 LR Straight-blowback action
• User-adjustable AccuTrigger
• 10-round rotary magazine
• Button-Rifled barrel
• Steel receiver
• Rugged composite stock
• Adjustable sights
• Drilled and tapped for scope mounts

The A22 LR will ship with an MSRP of $281.
