Safari Club International Set to Raise $10 Million-Plus at the 2015 Convention

As day one of Safari Club International's Annual Hunters' Convention kicks off, I can’t wait to hit the show floor. In addition to all the world-class hunting and fishing outfitters here waiting to book your next hunt, SCI expects to raise $10-million-plus as hunts, fishing trips, art, firearms, jewelry, furs and countless outdoor gear items are auctioned at special live, silent and Sables fundraising events. Have you wondered what SCI does with all that money?

Accounting for more than 70 percent of the money SCI raises this year, the funds will go to support its conservation, hunter advocacy, humanitarian and education programs worldwide—vital in advancing SCI’s mission to protect the freedom to hunt and to promote wildlife conservation. As I cover this event for NRA’s American Hunter website, I couldn’t be more proud to be supporting this like-minded organization.

And speaking of auctions, my husband, Phil, and I are attending the 2015 SCI Foundation Education Sables Luncheon and Auction on Friday, Feb. 6. Considering the Sables are the ladies of SCI, Phil should certainly being surrounded by countless wonderful women! As for the Sables’ auction tagline—“Hear Us Roar!”—it’s quite appropriate if I do say so myself!
