I thought those of you who've followed the progress of my two springer pups may enjoy an update. They're now 10 months, essentially full-grown, and fetching dummies to hand.

Junior has progressed quickly since that first retrieve at 13 weeks.

Here's some video from last month:

We've since added the polishment of hupping (sitting) for delivery and, well, I'm really proud of him. Despite conscious effort to avoid doing so, I can't help but see a lot of his father in him.

Cash has also made great strides and retrieves best for my wife (his registered owner). However, she is 9 months pregnant and declined an appearance on camera.

In the coming weeks both dogs will be introduced to birds, quartering and other more advanced upland skills. I couldn't be more excited to see what this next chapter holds. Isn't such anticipation much of the fun of our lives with dogs?
