Competitors using Rocky Mountain Hunting Calls brought their A-game to the 2019 World Elk Calling Championship, taking top spots in multiple divisions.

Here's just a handful of the many reasons to make the trip to the Great American Outdoor Show this year, held in Harrisburg, Pa., Feb. 2-10.

Unlike whitetails, elk have no problem changing addresses, and they usually do so about the time you thought you could count on previous scouting. When elk go on the lam, do some moving of your own then play it smart.

Sometimes calling elk is about knowing what not to do.

While Florida may no longer abound with the wild, jungly scenes once depicted in colorful tourism art, enlightened wildlife management has created a new era that’s good for hunters.

Real “experts” don’t let commonly held dogmas corral them. They’re out-of-the-box thinkers. They understand and utilize commonly held solutions, but they also know how and when to break these rules.

Perhaps there is no greater spectacle in nature than the one elk hunters across America observe every fall as they pursue our continent’s greatest ungulate.
