Best Guns and Gear of 2017

As companies prepare to roll out their new products at SHOT Show 2018, we take a look back at the some of the most innovative hunting products introduced over the last year.

#SundayGunday: Stevens 555 Enhanced Shotgun

Get a closer look at the Stevens 555 Enhanced, the latest addition to our #SundayGunday series.

Browning Continues Citori 725 High Grade Program

Browning's High Grade Program has entered its fifth year, and will feature a limited production run of Citori 725 Grade V and Grade VII Trap Models. The enhanced over-under shotguns will receive as much as 30 hours of hand engraving and touch-up work prior to being precisely fit into high-grade walnut.

Field Test: Stevens 555 Over/Under Shotguns

When you hunt ruffed grouse the last thing you want is a gun that doesn’t fit. To hunt birds genetically designed to out-motor and outmaneuver hawks, gun mount and reaction time is everything. The Stevens 555 provides one such solution.

Hardware: TriStar Setter S/T

Not a lot of folks recognize the name TriStar Arms. If the Setter S/T is a sign of things to come from “The Value Experts,” that’ll soon change.

Hardware: Benelli 828U

Field Editor Jeff Johnston thought Benelli had gone bat-crazy when it unveiled its new shotgun earlier this year. That’s because it featured two stacked barrels and a wooden stock. But then he got a chance to put his hands on the company's new 828U.

Hardware: Weatherby Orion I

For 2015, Weatherby is testing the waters of the over/under market once again, this time turning to the Turks in an effort to hit that thin line where affordability and quality meet. There are a lot of great gunmakers in Turkey, and Weatherby has obviously found one in ATA Weapons Industries, as the Orion I exhibits the kind of quality rarely found on a double gun with a street price that will likely fall under a thousand dollars.

First Look: Beretta 692

Beretta is known for its high-quality over/under shotguns that flood game fields and clay ranges throughout the world. Its latest model, the 692, is a feature-laced over/under that’s been modified for serious clay shooters—but it’s also deadly in the field. Here’s why.

Weatherby Bringing Back Orion Over/Unders in 2015

Orion over/under shotguns are returning to the Weatherby product line in 2015, and will be on display later this month at SHOT Show 2015.

Which Came First? The Side-by-Side or Over/Under Shotgun?

Yes, Napoleon's bejeweled side-by-side is older than your grandpappy's Browning Superposed, but that doesn't mean side-by-sides out-date over/unders. Or does it?
