undefinedFeb. 4, 9:20 p.m. PST: I landed in Las Vegas tonight for the second time in a matter of weeks. The other week I attended the SHOT Show at the Sands Convention Center attached to The Venetian. This time I will attend Safari Club International's Annual Hunters' Convention at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. Last year more than 18,000 people gathered for this show; this year convention officials expect perhaps 20,000 attendees. That may sound like a small number compared to the SHOT Show's 67,000 attendees or the the NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits' close to 100,000 attendees, but people who know better know this is the place to kick the tires on the most robust selection of hunting excursions found anywhere in the world. At the SCI Show you can roam more than 650,000 square feet of exhibit space--you can figuratively shop across six continents. Over the next three days I will do just that, and gawk at fabulous firearms and gear.
